The Three “F’s” in Manifesting Your Desires

Ever since the movie, “The Secret,” more and more “ëxperts” talk about how you can use the secret to manifest your desires; to get anything you want in life just by thinking about it. Unfortunately, things are not quite that easy. They may be simple, but not so easy. The key to manifesting your desires is to create an event in your mind.
There are three stages to causing your dreams to come true; 1. Focus, 2. Feel, and 3. Forget. Let’s call them the three “F’s” in manifesting your desires.

1. Focus: Whatever desire you have, until it is actually in front of you it is just a thought. Thousands of thoughts drift through our brains every day. But the one that you desire to have must be treated differently from the others. You must isolate that one thought and focus upon it. By focusing upon that one thought, that one desire, it becomes a goal. If you keep that goal in front of you constantly – keeping it in mind at all times – you automatically go toward it. Focusing on your goal is the first stage in manifesting your desires.
2. Feel: A picture in your mind may be worth a thousand words, but it has no substance. It’s just a picture in your mind. If it is truly something that you want, then you must have some feelings about it. Get to know these feelings. How would your feelings change if suddenly the object of your desire materialized right in front of you? Project that feeling onto yourself as you sustain the focused image of manifesting your desire. This makes the thought more than just a fleeting idea. It becomes like a memory of a real event that just hasn’t happened yet.
3. Forget: This seems to contradict the first stage of focusing on your one desire. However, the task at hand is NOT to forget about the thing you want. It is also not to abandon the thought that you have focused upon. Rather, set the thought aside as though it has already happened. When it has already happened, you no longer feel a need to make it happen. When you remove any anxiety associated with making this event happen, you eliminate obstacles and free yourself to experience the event.
In summary, Focus, Feel, and Forget describe the three stages in manifesting your desires. The first step is to focus on what you want so that what you want becomes a goal. The second step is to adopt the feelings you would have if your dream came true. This gives the thought a human substance. The last stage is to forget – to let go of any attachment you may have to “needing” this thing. These are simple steps, but like everything else they require some skill and patience. By building up skills, you can make manifesting your desires a daily event.
